Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1980 Hindi romantic drama written, edited and directed by Suraj Prakash that starred Zarina Wahab and Raj Babbar in key roles.

Produced by Tarachand Barjatya, distributed by Rajshri Productions and released under the Sargam Pictures’ banner, Jazbaat (1980) also starred Shashi Puri, Bhagwan, Leela Mishra, Savita Bajaj, Dinesh Hingoo, Jairaj, Viju Khote, Rajendra Nath and Jagdish in supporting roles.

Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1980), this vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This Jazbaat poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by one of the leading Bollywood poster design studios of Bombay, Pamart. The printed signature of master Bollywood poster painter V.G. Parchure is seen on the bottom right in the name of his art studio.

A stunning large close up portrait of actor Raj Babbar dressed in a police uniform dominates this old Bollywood poster. A smaller illustration of actress Zarina Wahab is seen below. She is seen performing to the song, “Jhumta Gaata Sawan Aaya.”

The background depicts a rainy night, with a mix of blue, white and black hues. Typography used in this original Jazbaat poster is entirely in English, with only a translation of the title seen in Devanagari Hindi at the bottom. The two titles are seen in a striking yellow font in this Raj Babbar poster.

The soundtrack album of Jazbaat (1980) was composed by Rajkamal. The song “Jhumta Gata Sawan Aaya” sung by Sulakshana Pandit became popular at the time of the film’s release.
