Jawani Ki Hawa poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1959 black and white Hindi drama directed by M. Sadiq that starred Vyjayanthimala and Pradeep Kumar in lead roles.
Produced by P.N. Arora and released under the All India Pictures’ banner, Jawani Ki Hawa (1959) also starred Poornima, Johnny Walker, Shammi, Anwar Hussain, Helen, Raj Mehra and Tiger The Wonder Dog in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during the film’s subsequent release run in north Indian theaters (somewhere in the 1960s), this Jawani Ki Hawa poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a movie poster design studio in Delhi, this Vyjayanthimala poster features a striking design.
The actress is seen in a stunning illustration, in her character of a young free spirited girl in this Jawani Ki Hawa poster. Wearing a pin striped red shirt and pig tailed hair, Vyjayanthimala appears leaning back with one hand on the back of her head.
A combination of strong colors (red and blue) dominates this old Bollywood poster, making it extremely catchy and appealing. The artwork is set against a minimal white background making it stand out. Typography used in this Jawani Ki Hawa poster is primarily in English, with a translation of the title appearing in Devanagari Hindi as well as Urdu at the bottom.
The soundtrack album of Jawani Ki Hawa (1959) was composed by Ravi, while lyrics were written by Rajendra Krishan. The album is fondly remembered for gems such as “Kaun Jane Re Baba Duniya Mein Peer Parai” sung by Mohammed Rafi, Geeta Dutt & Asha Bhosle and “Babu Re, Babu Re, Babu Re” sung by Asha Bhosle.
