Bollywood western movies poster for sale: Kaala Sona (1975).

Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1975 Hindi curry Western directed by Ravikant Nagaich that starred the Clint Eastwood of India, Feroz Khan in the lead role.

Produced by Harish and Vinod Shah, distributed by Vision Universal and released under the Shilpkar’s banner, Kaala Sona (1975) also starred Parveen Babi, Prem Chopra, Danny Denzongpa, Farida Jalal, Helen, Bipin Gupta, Imtiaz Khan, Durga Khote, Keshto Mukherjee, Bhagwan, Agha, Raju Shrestha, K. N. Singh, P. Jairaj and Satyendra Kapoor in supporting roles.

Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1975), this vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This Kaala Sona poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by one of the leading Bollywood poster design studios of Bombay, Pamart. The printed signature of master Bollywood poster painter V.G. Parchure is seen on the bottom right in the name of his art studio.

A stunning mash up of illustrations is seen in this brilliantly hand painted Bollywood western movies poster. Lead actor Feroz Khan is seen in a dramatic portrait on the top left, wearing a cowboy hat and taking aim from his pistol. Danny Denzongpa is seen alongside illustrated in green, wearing a native American Indian bandana.

Actress Parveen Babi is seen holding a double barreled shotgun in a beautifully drawn portrait at the center of this old Bollywood poster. A smaller illustration of Imtiaz Khan holding a rifle appears alongside. Actor Prem Chopra is seen in a dramatic portrait at the bottom wearing a Arabian headscarf. He is painted in green again, strongly giving away the negative shade in his character.

Broad, rough brush strokes used by master Bollywood poster painter V.G. Parchure are seen on the borders of the mash-up, giving this Bollywood western movies poster the appearance of an artist’s palette. The background is a minimal white, making the illustration in the foreground stand out.

Typography used in this original Kaala Sona movie poster is entirely in English, with only a translation of the title seen in Devanagari Hindi at the top. The two titles are seen in a striking yellow font in this Feroz Khan poster.

The soundtrack album of Kaala Sona (1975) was composed by one of the greatest music composers in Indian cinema, R.D. Burman. The film featured an unforgettable background whistling score, which was taken by R.D. Burman from his previously composed iconic song, “Chala Jaata Hoon” from Mere Jeevan Saathi (1972).

Danny Denzongpa, one of the most successful villains of Indian cinema, had a hidden singing talent that was first discovered by S.D. Burman in the film Yeh Gulistan Hamara (1972), in which he sang “Mera Naam Aao Mere Paas Aao,” a duet with Lata Mangeshkar. Like his father S.D. Burman, R.D. Burman also decided to put Danny Denzongpa’s singing prowess to use in Kaala Sona (1975) with the memorable duet “Sun Sun Kasam Se, Lagu Tere Kadam Se” sung by Danny and Asha Bhosle.
