Vintage posters for sale: Karmyudh (1985).
This is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the old 1985 Hindi film directed by Swaroop Kumar that starred Mithun Chakraborty and Anita Raj in lead roles.
Pran, Amrish Puri, Parveen Babi, Asha Sachdev, Krishan Dhawan, Bharat Kapoor, Tej Sapru, Dheeraj Kumar, Sudhir Dalvi, Viju Khote, Ramesh Deo, Bob Christo, Arun Govil, Rajan Haksar and Yunus Parvez played supporting roles in this classic action packed drama.
Printed and circulated during a subsequent release run of the film in Kolkata (somewhere in the late 1980s), this vintage poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This vintage Karmyudh poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a Bollywood poster art studio in Kolkata. A brilliant hand drawn portrait of actor Mithun Chakraborty is seen at the center, holding a burning torch in one hand and a pistol in the other. Actress Anita Raj is seen in an illustration on the left.
Pran and Amrish Puri are seen hand drawn on the right of this vintage poster for sale, illustrated in green. Typography used in the poster is primarily in English, with the film’s title translated in Devanagari Hindi as well on the bottom left. A stunning combination of red and green is used in this two color hand painted Bollywood poster. The titles appear in a 3D styled font, in white letters set against a black background.
The soundtrack album of Karmyudh (1985) was composed by noted music director Bappi Lahiri. It featured the catchy song, “Jawani Se Mile Jahan Jawani” sung by Asha Bhosle, the tune of which was inspired from “Eye Of The Tiger” by Survivor.
