Akshay Kumar poster of the super hit action Hindi film, Rowdy Rathore (2012) for sale.
This is an actual surviving original Rowdy Rathore poster of the action packed Bollywood drama produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and directed by the dancing sensation of India, Prabhu Deva.
Rowdy Rathore starred Akshay Kumar in a double role along with Sonakshi Sinha. The film was a blockbuster hit, becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films, making this Akshay Kumar poster, highly collectible.
Printed and circulated during the original first release of the film (somewhere in 2012), this Akshay Kumar poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Rowdy Rathore poster is double side printed, and was intended to be used as a backlit poster inside a lightbox at a movie theater.
In 2011 prior to the film’s release, producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to capitalize on the re-emergence of old school hand drawn Bollywood posters – an industry which had faded out since the early 1990s. Bollywood poster painters were hired to make a hand drawn movie poster of the film instead of a digitally designed poster as is the norm in the digital age.
This original Rowdy Rathore movie poster features a stunning illustrated portrait of Akshay Kumar clenching his fist. Knife work is used to hand paint the face of superstar Akshay Kumar to give him a rugged and macho look. He is seen wearing aviator glasses in this Rowdy Rathore film poster. An incredibly detailed action sequence is seen unfolding at the bottom.
The amazing combination of red, yellow, orange, blue, pink and gold hues used in the design of this hand drawn Bollywood poster give it a very catchy appearance. The top of this Akshay Kumar poster reads, “Apun ka fatka, 440 ka jhatka.” A stunning illustrated font is used in making the title of this hand drawn Bollywood poster. The release date of the film is announced at the bottom of this Rowdy Rathore poster in a striking red font.
An official remake of the 2006 Telugu film Vikramarkudu, Rowdy Rathore’s soundtrack was composed by Sajid-Wajid. The song “Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita” sung by Mika Singh became a rage throughout the nation upon its release and is played till today.
