Jagir movie poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving old publicity poster of the 1984 Western Bollywood movie produced and directed by Pramod Chakravorty that starred Dharmendra, Mithun Chakraborty and Danny Denzongpa in lead roles.
Presented by Pramod Films, Jagir (1984) also starred Zeenat Aman, Pran, Amrish Puri, Ranjeet, Shoma Anand, Beena Banerjee, Sujit Kumar, Praveen Kumar, Iftekhar, Kamal Kapoor, Bharat Bhushan, Priti Sapru, Birbal, Asit Sen, Mac Mohan and Bob Christo in supporting roles.
Jagir (1984) was a curry Western released in both Hindi as well as Bengali (as Teen Murti). The film was a hit at the domestic box office as well as in The Soviet Union, where it was the top grossing Indian film of 1986.
It told the story of three musketeers Shankar (Dharmendra),
Sanga (Mithun Chakraborty) and Danny (Danny Denzongpa) who battle a gang of dacoits led by father son duo Lakhan Singh (Amrish Puri) and Ranjeet Singh (Ranjeet). At stake is the priceless royal treasure of Anjangadh hidden by Maharaj Shoor Veer Singh in a secret location which is guarded by a falcon called Shamsher Bahadur. The whereabouts of the treasure are detailed in a map that is concealed inside a locket worn by the king’s son, Shankar. The three musketeers must defend the treasure at any cost from the hands of evil.
Printed and circulated subsequent to the first release of the film (somewhere in the late 1980s), this old Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film in Kolkata but never ended up being used.
This Jagir movie poster features an interesting quirky design which is somewhat similar to a western classic movie. Lead actor Dharmendra is seen wearing a cowboy hat. The falcon that defends the royal treasure in the film is seen perched on his shoulder.
The soundtrack album of Jagir (1984) was composed by ace music director RD Burman, while lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. It featured the hit song, “Hum Dilwale Sari Duniya Se” sung by Kishore Kumar.
