Ahsaas

Posters Delhi print for sale: Ahsaas (1979).

This is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the old 1979 Hindi film Ahsaas which starred newcomers Parvez and Dina in lead roles.

Produced by G. P. Sippy and directed by Surinder Suri, Ahsaas also starred Shammi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Simi Garewal, Simple Kapadia, Bindu, Amjad Khan and Rakesh Bedi in supporting roles. Amitabh Bachchan and Bindiya Goswami featured in a special appearance in the Lata Mangeshkar song, “Rootho Na, Rootho Na.”

Printed and circulated a few years after the original first release of the film (somewhere in the 1980s), this vintage Bollywood poster Delhi print was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a poster art studio in Delhi.

This original poster features a large hand painted close up portrait of the lead couple Parvez and Dina in a romantic pose prominently. Flowers are seen in the background. Typography used in this poster Delhi print is primarily in English, with the title appearing in a large size in Devanagari Hindi as well. The English title appears in an interesting style, with the letter “a” featuring a heart woven inside.

The soundtrack album of Ahsaas was composed by Bappi Lahiri. The film marked the debut of Rakesh Bedi, who went on to carve a niche for himself in the world of comedy in both films as well as television.
