Sarkar poster set for sale.

This is an actual surviving set of 7 original Bollywood lobby cards of the cult Hindi crime thriller, Sarkar (2005). Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Sarkar was based along the lines of the all-time American classic, The Godfather.

The film starred the biggest superstar of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role as “Subhash Nagre” aka “Sarkar.” The film also starred Abhishek Bachchan, Kay Kay Menon, Katrina Kaif, Tanisha Mukherjee, Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak, Rukhsar Rehman, Ishrat Ali, Raju Mavani, Zakir Hussain, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Jeeva and Ravi Kale in supporting roles.

The blockbuster film was premiered at the New York Asian Film Festival and has been archived at the American Academy of Motion Pictures library. Just like the Godfather Trilogy, two sequels of Sarkar were subsequently released – Sarkar Raj in 2008, and Sarkar 3 in 2017, making this original Sarkar poster set, highly collectible!

Printed and circulated prior to the first release of the film (somewhere in 2005), this 7 Sarkar poster set was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is captured in stunning photographic stills in in this set of 7 original Bollywood lobby cards. Abhishek Bachchan, Kay Kay Menon, Supriya Pathak, Rukhsar Rehman, Ishrat Ali, Zakir Hussain, Jeeva, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Ravi Kale are also seen in various still photos in this Sarkar poster set for sale.

Over the years, Sarkar has attained cult status and its iconic dialogues have become a part of popular culture. The theme song of the film, “Govinda” sung by Amitabh Bachchan and Kailash Kher is instantly recalled till today.
