Do Shatru poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1976 Hindi drama produced and directed by Kewal Misra that starred Sharmila Tagore and Shatrughan Sinha in key roles.
Presented by Kewal Art Productions, Do Shatru (1976) also starred Kamini Kaushal, Sujit Kumar, Dev Kumar, Iftekhar, Ram Mohan, Rajan Haksar, Leela Mishra, Jayshree T. and Kewal Misra himself in supporting roles. Anil Dhawan and Aruna Irani made special appearances in the film in the popular song, “Rab Na Kare.”
Do Shatru (1976) featured Shatrughan Sinha in a memorable role as Robin Hood styled bandit “Raja” and Sharmila Tagore as a princess seeking to avenge her father’s murder.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1976), this vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Do Shatru poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by Bollywood poster painter Mahesh and bears his printed signature on the bottom right.
A stunning symmetrical design featuring the lead couple Shatrughan Sinha and Sharmila Tagore holding pistols is seen prominently in this old Bollywood poster. The artwork captures the two hand painted portraits in vertical brush strokes. The couple is seen again at the bottom, hand painted brilliantly in a romantic embrace.
The background at the bottom is a minimal white. Typography used in this vintage Bollywood poster is entirely in English except for the title which is translated in Devanagari Hindi as well. The main English title seen in a striking red font, with an orange pencil border.
The soundtrack album of Do Shatru (1976) was composed by hit duo Kalyanji–Anandji. One of the songs from the album, “Rab Na Kare” sung by Narendra Chanchal and Lata Mangeshkar became very popular at the time of the film’s release.
