Featured here is a rare original vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1973 Hindi film directed by Sudhendu Roy that starred the greatest superstar of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role along with Nutan and Padma Khanna.
Saudagar (1973) was based on a Bengali short story written by Narendranath Mitra called “Ras” (Juice). Produced by Tarachand Barjatya under the prestigious Rajshri Productions banner, Saudagar (1973) featured Prithviraj Kapoor’s younger brother Trilok Kapoor in a supporting role, along with Murad, Dev Kishan, Leela Mishra, Minoo Mehtab, Rita Das, Nadir, V. Gopal and C.S. Dubey.
Although not a commercial success, Saudagar (1973) was critically acclaimed and selected as the Indian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 46th Academy Awards, making this Amitabh Bachchan film poster, highly collectible!.
