I Hate Luv Storys poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving original Bollywood movie poster of the 2010 Hindi romantic comedy written and directed by Punit Malhotra that starred Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor in key roles.
Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar & Karan Johar under their prestigious Dharma Productions banner along with Ronnie Screwvala’s UTV Motion Pictures (who also distributed the film), I Hate Luv Storys (2010) also starred Samir Soni, Anju Mahendru, Sameer Dattani, Aamir Ali and Pooja Ghai Rawal in supporting roles, while Avantika Malik Khan made a special appearance in the film.
Shot partially in Queenstown, New Zealand, I Hate Luv Storys (2010) told the story of a Bollywood art director called Simran Saluja (Sonam Kapoor) who loves Bollywood romances. She is engaged to the perfect partner, Raj Dholakia (Sammir Dattani) and is looking forward to a happily ever after. However, everything changes when she meets Jay Dhingra (Imran Khan), who is her complete opposite. Jay is hired as an an assistant to a famous Bollywood director known for his romantic films called Veer Kapoor (Samir Soni). Ironically, Jay finds the very idea of romance repulsive and does not believe that true love exists. Simran and Jay begin working together on Veer Kapoor’s next romantic film, Pyaar Pyaar Pyaar (Love Love Love). Their opposing views on the subject of romance clash together initially. However, as time progresses, the two become friends and eventually fall in love with one another.
Printed and circulated during the debut of the film in theaters (somewhere in 2010), this I Hate Luv Storys poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
A stunning waist length still photograph of the lead couple is seen spanning the entire length of this original Bollywood poster. Sonam Kapoor is seen in her character of a hopeless romantic, holding a flower in her hand and dreaming away. Imran Khan is seen eyeing her with a cynical look, with a speech bubble spelling out his thoughts as, “Luv Storys!!! Luv them, Hate them, you can’t ignore them. As for me …”
Typography used in this I Hate Luv Storys poster is entirely in English. A boom microphone is seen dangling above actress Sonam Kapoor in the background, while the entire poster is encased inside a clapboard, giving away the setting of the film.
The soundtrack album of I Hate Luv Storys (2010) was composed by duo Vishal–Shekhar. It was a blockbuster hit, featuring tracks that are popular till today such as, “Bin Tere” sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali, Sunidhi Chauhan & Vishal Dadlani and “Bahara” sung by Shreya Ghoshal & Sona Mohapatra.
