Khuda Gawah poster for sale!
This is an actual surviving Amitabh Bachchan old movie poster of the hit Hindi film Khuda Gawah (1992).
Written and directed by Mukul S. Anand, Khuda Gawah starred Amitabh Bachchan opposite actress Sridevi (playing a double role). Nagarjuna, Shilpa Shirodkar, Danny Denzongpa and Kiran Kumar played supporting roles in the film.
Printed and circulated during the screening of the film in theaters (somewhere in the early 1990s), this old Khuda Gawah poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Khuda Gawah was the third time that Sridevi and Amitabh Bachchan appeared on screen together. The film made Sridevi the only actress in the history of Indian cinema to play a double role opposite Amitabh Bachchan.
Khuda Gawah finds mention in the Limca Book of Records as the first Indian film to use surround sound. It is one of the most watched Indian films in Afghanistan’s history, making this Khuda Gawah poster, highly collectible!
This Amitabh poster features the superstar in a large photographic still in the center. He is seen wearing an Afghan turban and brandishing a sword. A fiery a mix of orange, yellow and red hues is seen in the background. The title of the film appears in stunning 3D style typography. Several warriors galloping on horses are seen at the bottom of this Khuda Gawah poster in a smaller still.
The music of Khuda Gawah was composed by ace music composer duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Songs from the film such as “Tu Na Ja Mere Baadshah” are fondly remembered till date.
At the 38th Filmfare Awards, Khuda Gawah bagged three awards. The film was dubbed in Telugu and was later adapted into a Pakistani television series of the same name. Khuda Gawah ran to packed houses for ten weeks in Kabul and remained in demand when cinemas reopened in 2001.
