Bollywood collage poster for sale: Kranti (1981).
This is an actual surviving rare original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1981 Hindi film which was produced and directed by Manoj Kumar and written by Salim-Javed.
Kranti featured a stellar star cast comprising Dilip Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha, Parveen Babi, Pradeep Kumar, Sarika, Nirupa Roy, Madan Puri, Tom Alter, Prem Chopra, Agha, Dheeraj Kumar and Paintal.
The film marked the return of the ultimate method actor of Bollywood, Dilip Kumar, after a five year hiatus, making this Bollywood collage poster highly collectible!
Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (early 1980s), this vintage Kranti movie poster was designed and printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Originally designed using mixed media techniques by one of the finest Bollywood poster painters of his time, V.G. Parchure of Pamart studio fame, this Bollywood collage poster features a stunning design. The artist’s printed signature in the name of his art studio appears on the bottom right hand corner of this original Kranti poster.
True to master Bollywood poster artist’s V.G. Parchure’s command over the subject of movie poster design, this Kranti poster features an interesting combination of both hand drawn artwork as well as photographic collage techniques. A large hand painted close up of actor Manoj Kumar is seen prominently at the center of this Kranti poster. Broad brush strokes give a rugged character to his face.
Smaller still photographs of actors Dilip Kumar, Hema Malini and Nirupa Roy are seen on the left of this Bollywood collage poster. Shatrughan Sinha, Parveen Babi and Shashi Kapoor appear on the right. A fiery flame lit background surrounds the entire poster, giving away the revolutionary plot of the film.
The title of the film appears in a fiery font on the top, painted using a mix of orange, yellow and white. Typography used in this Kranti movie poster is entirely Devanagari Hindi with a translation of the title seen in English at the bottom.
The soundtrack album of Kranti was composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. A song from Kranti, “Zindagi Ki Na Toote Ladi” sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Nitin Mukesh became hugely popular at the time of the film’s release and is fondly remembered till date.
