Produced by Christian Colson, Slumdog Millionaire (2008) also starred Irrfan Khan, Saurabh Shukla, Mahesh Manjrekar, Shruti Seth, Rajendranath Zutshi, Ankur Vikal and Mia Drake Inderbitzin in supporting roles.
Based on a novel written by Vikas Swarup called Q&A (2005), Slumdog Millionaire (2008) was a a sleeper hit, topping worldwide box office records for the year.

Several backup dancers are seen in the background dancing to the song “Jai Ho.” Dev Patel is seen again at the bottom in his character of a contestant on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (Kaun Banega Crorepati) seated across the host of the game show, Anil Kapoor.
Typography used in this original Slumdog Millionaire movie poster is entirely in English, with the title appearing at the bottom. A line on the top of the poster announces the milestone run of the film as,”CELEBRATING 50 DAYS.” The subtitle of the film is seen written at the bottom: “BORN TO LOSE. DESTINED TO WIN.”
The soundtrack album of Slumdog Millionaire (2008) was composed by music maestro A.R. Rahman, while lyrics were written by Gulzar among others. It featured the chart topping hit, “Jai Ho” sung by Sukhwinder Singh, which won Best Original Song at the Academy Awards.
