Anil Kapoor movie poster for sale: Yudh (1985).
Featured here is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the old 1985 action thriller produced by Gulshan Rai and directed by his debutant son Rajiv Rai that starred Anil Kapoor (of Slumdog Millionaire fame) in a double role and Jackie Shroff in lead roles.
Released under the Trimurti Films banner, Yudh (1985) also starred Tina Munim, Pran, Danny Denzongpa, Nutan, Deven Verma, Pran, Arun Govil, Manmohan Krishna, Iftekhar, Sharat Saxena, Satyendra Kapoor and Jagdish Raj in supporting roles. Shatrughan Sinha and Hema Malini made special appearances in the film.
This original Bollywood poster has been designed by the greatest calendar artist in India, JP Singhal and bears his printed signature in the name of his studio “Singhals” on the bottom right hand corner, making it highly collectible!
Printed and circulated during the first release run of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1985), this Anil Kapoor movie poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This old Bollywood poster was originally designed in photographic collage format by cutting out stills of actors using a blade and pasting them on a board. The background and lettering are hand painted, making it an interesting combination of two different design techniques.
A stunning still photo of Jackie Shroff and Tina Munim in a romantic pose is seen in this Yudh poster. Anil Kapoor is seen alongside, looking at Jackie Shroff from the corner of his eyes. The still photos are seen set against a fiery background that shifts to crimson in a gradient towards the bottom.
Typography in this old Bollywood poster is completely in English. The title appears in a stunning curved 3D font in yellow and red, giving away the action packed genre of the film.
The soundtrack album of Yudh (1985) was composed by Kalyanji Anandji, while lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. It featured memorable songs such as “Yeh Hai Mujre Ki Raat Aakhiri” sung by Lata Mangeshkar and “Main Kya Aise Pyar Karoongi” sung by Asha Bhosle & Mahendra Kapoor both featuring Hema Malini’s fabulous dance moves.
