This is an actual surviving original Indian mythology movie poster of the old 1976 Hindi film that featured award winning wrestler turned Bollywood actor, Dara Singh in the lead role as Lord Hanuman.

Produced and directed by Chandrakant, Bajrang Bali (1976) also starred Biswajeet (as Lord Rama), Moushumi Chatterjee (as Sita), Prem Nath (as Ravan), Durga Khote, Sumitra Devi, Randhawa, Jayshree Gadkar, Asit Sen, Shashi Kapoor, Mehmood, Mukri and Shahu Modak in supporting roles.

Printed and circulated during the screening of the film in theaters (somewhere in the 1970s), this mythology movie poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This Bajrang Bali poster was originally designed in oil on canvas hand painted format by artist G.R. Kareker and bears his printed signature on the bottom left. Dara Singh playing the role of Hanuman, is depicted in a stunning portrait prominently on the center of this Bajrang Bali poster. He is seen crushing the head of evil.

Key scenes from the film such as Lord Hanuman swallowing the sun, setting fire to Lanka with his tail and carrying a mountain with his hands are depicted in images on his sides.

The typography used in this original Bajrang Bali poster is completely in Devanagari Hindi, with a translation of the title appearing in English as well at the bottom. The title appears in red on the top, in a heavily stylized font.

Based on one of the oldest and most sacred epics of Hinduism, The Ramayana, Bajrang Bali featured music composed by Kalyanji-Anandji and songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Mahendra Kapoor.
