Nastik movie poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving vintage original Bollywood movie poster of the 1983 Hindi action film directed by Pramod Chakravorty that starred the greatest superstar of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role opposite actress Hema Malini.
Produced by Vinod Doshi, Nastik (1983) also starred Pran, Deven Verma, Amjad Khan, Bhagwan, Raju Shrestha, Baby Sarika, Kamal Kapoor, Nalini Jaywant, Bharat Bhushan, Jayshree T., Rita Bhaduri, Viju Khote, Lalita Pawar, Tom Alter, Shammi and Pappu the dog in supporting roles. Manhar and Kavita Kiran made their debut in the film.
Nastik (1983) was the last film to feature the hit pair of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini together (who previously appeared in films such as Satte Pe Satta, Kasauti, Naseeb, Desh Premee, Gehri Chaal, Andha Kanoon and Geraftaar) before they made a comeback 20 years later in Baghban (2003).
Printed and circulated during the first release run of the film (somewhere in the early 1980s), this Nastik movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This old Bollywood poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by the highest paid film poster painter of all time in Indian cinema, Diwakar Karkare of Bombay based Studio Diwakar fame.
Diwakar’s mastery over the paintbrush is at display in a large hand painted portrait of superstar Amitabh Bachchan seen prominently in this Nastik movie poster. An idol radiating divine light is painted at the top left, giving away the underlying theme of the film.
Typography used in this Amitabh old movie poster is entirely in English, with the title appearing in a striking red font along with two temple bells in chains. The third eye associated with clairvoyance and revelation is seen woven into the logo.
The soundtrack album of Nastik (1983) was composed by Kalyanji Anandji, while lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. It contained the hit song “Aaj Ka Yeh Din Kal Ban Jaayega Kal” by Kishore Kumar. The devotional song “Sagre Jagat Ka Ek Rakhwala” also became popular at the time of it’s release.
