Featured here is a rare original old Bollywood poster of the 1989 action Hindi film directed by Tony Juneja that starred Anil Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon, Kimi Katkar, Anita Raj and Shakti Kapoor in key roles.

Abhimanyu (1989) also starred Aruna Irani, Prem Chopra, Shafi Inamdar, Jagdeep, A.K. Hangal and Guddi Maruti in supporting roles.

Printed and circulated a few years after the first release of the film (somewhere in the 1990s), this Anil Kapoor poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a movie poster design studio in Kolkata and features stunning illustrated artwork.

A large close up illustration of actor Anil Kapoor is seen at the center. He is seen clenching his fists and shouting in his character of “America Puri.” Actress Poonam Dhillon who plays “Miss California Kelly” is seen on the left while Kimi Katkar is seen on the right of this quirky hand drawn Bollywood poster.

The entire poster is painted in a stunning mix of green, red and black hues, making it extremely eye catching. Typography used in this Anil Kapoor poster is primarily in English, with a translation of the title in both Devanagari Hindi as well as Bengali at the bottom.

One of the songs from the film, “Fire Brigade” sung by Alka Yagnik and Amit Kumar became popular at the time of it’s release.
