This is an actual surviving vintage Bollywood poster of the 1954 black and white Bollywood movie produced by the greatest entertainer of all time in Bollywood, Raj Kapoor (also known as The Show Man of Indian cinema).
Boot Polish is a 1954 Hindi film directed by Prakash Arora and produced by Raj Kapoor. The comedy drama starred Ratan Kumar and Baby Naaz in lead roles.
The film’s story revolved around the lives of two children rendered homeless and left to fend for themselves on the streets. Boot Polish won Best Film at the Filmfare Awards, making this Raj Kapoor movie poster, highly collectible!
This vintage Bollywood poster was printed and circulated a few years after the debut of the film in theaters (somewhere in the late 1950s) and was intended for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This old Bollywood poster was originally made in hand painted oil on canvas format by a leading poster art studio in Bombay. A stunning hand painted portrait of Baby Naaz and Ratan Kumar is seen in this Raj Kapoor movie poster. The poster is set against the backdrop of a busy city street, which is depicted with a crowd of human silhouettes at the bottom. Ratan Kumar is seen with his arm stretched out holding a shoe brush in his hand.
