Shahrukh Khan poster for sale! Featured here is a rare original poster of the hit Hindi film Chak De! India (2007).
This is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the hit Hindi sports drama that starred “King Khan” superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Chak De! India was produced by Aditya Chopra, directed by Shimit Amin and written by Jaideep Sahni
Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film (somewhere in 2007), this Shahrukh Khan poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Chak De India movie poster features superstar Shahrukh Khan prominently in a stunning full length photograph. He is seen holding a hockey stick in his hand. The sixteen actresses who portrayed the roles of the players of the Indian women’s hockey team or the “Chak De” girls are seen in the background. The entire poster is set against the backdrop of a sports stadium with the title appearing in patriotic national flag tricolor in Devanagari Hindi. A bright sunny sky is seen at the top of this Chak De India poster.
Chak De! India was inspired by the historic win of the Indian women’s hockey team at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. The film stars Shahrukh Khan as “Kabir Khan,” the coach of the Indian women’s hockey team.
The film was released worldwide on 10 August 2007, ahead of India’s 60th Independence Day. Chak De! India was a super hit at the box office, bagging a number of awards, most notably the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
The soundtrack of Chak De! India composed by Salim-Sulaiman broke all records at the time of its release. Such was it’s influence that the title song “Chak De! India” sung by Sukhwinder Singh has become a national sports anthem and is played at numerous sports events. After India’s World Cup victory in 2011, cricketer Virat Kohli sang “Chak de India” in front of a roaring crowd.
In 2007, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences requested a copy of the film’s script for a place in its Margaret Herrick Library. The film has achieved iconic status and finds a part in Independence Day Film Festivals both locally as well as internationally.
