Featured here is an original Bollywood poster of the blockbuster 1993 Hindi psychological drama produced and directed by the “King of Bollywood romance” Yash Chopra that starred the “Baadshah of Bollywood” Shah Rukh Khan in a negative role along with Sunny Deol and Juhi Chawla in lead roles.

Produced under the prestigious Yash Raj Films banner, Darr (1993) also starred Annu Kapoor, Tanvi Azmi, Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, Anupam Kher, Piloo Wadia and Vikas Anand in supporting roles.

Darr (1993) told the story of an obsessive lover called Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) who is madly in love with his classmate Kiran (Juhi Chawla). Things take a turn for the worse when she gets married to her boyfriend, Indian Naval officer Sunil (Sunny Deol). He begins to stalk her and devises a plan to eliminate her husband in order to be with her.

The film marked a major milestone in superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s career, with his character of an obsessive psychotic lover winning critical acclaim. His stammering rendition of “Kiran” became a rage throughout the nation and remains forever etched in Bollywood cinema’s hall of fame. Darr won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, making this Shah Rukh Khan poster, highly collectible!

Printed and circulated during the golden jubilee year of Yash Raj Films in 2020, this Darr poster features a brilliant digitally painted design.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is seen on the bottom left in a striking red illustration screaming. Sunny Deol appears on the right in a side profile portrait in blue staring at him. Actress Juhi Chawla is seen in a portrait at the center in violet, giving away the love triangle plot of the film. The two actors are seen again in an action-packed chase scene at the bottom.

Two smaller digitally illustrated portraits of Juhi Chawla dancing with each hero are seen on the bottom left and top right of this Shah Rukh poster. The background has several scuff marks and cracks in it’s design, to show the age of the film. Typography used in this illustrated Darr poster is entirely in English, with the film’s title appearing in red in a 3D font.

The soundtrack of Darr (1993) was composed by Shiv-Hari, while lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. It became a rage throughout the nation upon it’s release. Songs from the film such as “Jaadu Teri Nazar” sung by Udit Narayan and “Tu Mere Saamne” sung by Lata Mangeshkar & Udit Narayan have become timeless unforgettable classics.
