Old Bollywood film posters for sale: Kismet Ka Khel (1956).
This is an actual surviving rare vintage original Bollywood poster of the 1956 Hindi film produced, co-written and directed by Kishore Sahu which starred Vyjayantimala and Sunil Dutt in lead roles. Begum Para, Yashodhara Katju, Mukri, Kamaljeet, Jagdeep, Bhudo Advani, Tun Tun and Moni Chatterjee played supporting roles in this social crime drama.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1956), this Kismet Ka Khel poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This hand painted movie poster was originally designed in oil on canvas format and illustrated by a popular film poster design studio in Bombay, Mira Art. Actress Vyjayantimala is seen in a stunning close up portrait prominently at the center, with accentuated eyelashes and gold jewelry. Actor Sunil Dutt appears in a large side profile, brilliantly illustrated in this old Bollywood film poster.
Lettering used in this poster is entirely in English, with a translation of the title appearing in Devanagari Hindi on the top. This hand painted movie poster features the title in red, encased in a yellow border and set against a blue background, giving it a very catchy appearance.
Kismet Ka Khel featured a memorable soundtrack album composed by ace duo Shankar Jaikishan, while the lyrics were written by Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri. Songs in the album were sung by none other than Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and Manna Dey. The title song of the film, “Kismat Ka Khel Hai Janab E Aali” became popular at the time of the film’s release.
