Main Hoon Na movie poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the old 2004 Hindi film directed by Farah Khan that starred the “Badshah of Bollywood” superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.
Produced by Gauri Khan and Ratan Jain, Main Hoon Na (2004) was the first film to be presented under Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment banner. Suniel Shetty, Sushmita Sen, Amrita Rao, Zayed Khan, Boman Irani, Kirron Kher, Bindu, Kabir Bedi, Naseeruddin Shah, Satish Shah and Rakhi Sawant played supporting roles, while Tabu, Geeta Kapoor and Sajid Khan made special appearances in the film.
Main Hoon Na (2004) marked Farah Khan’s directorial debut. The film’s soundtrack album was a blockbuster, becoming one of the highest selling Bollywood soundtracks of the year, making this Shah Rukh Khan poster, highly collectible!
In the film, superstar Shah Rukh Khan played the role of an Indian army operative (Major Ram Prasad Sharma), who is sent undercover as a college student on campus in order to protect the general’s daughter from ex-serviceman Major Raghavan Dutta (Suniel Shetty) who has gone rogue.
Main Hoon Na (2004) was shot extensively at St. Paul’s private boarding school for boys in the town of Darjeeling, West Bengal.
Printed and circulated during the first release run of the film in theaters (somewhere in 2004), this Main Hoon Na movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is seen in a striking bust sized close up that dominates the entire span of this Bollywood poster. He is seen pointing to himself, spelling out the title, “Main Hoon Na” (I am there no?). St. Paul’s school is seen in the background above.
Typography used in this Bollywood poster is entirely in English. The title of the film is seen using a play of words in a machine riveted font. Instead of the title, a caption reads, “Super Hit Hai Na” (Is Super Hit No?).
The soundtrack of Main Hoon Na (2004) was composed by Anu Malik, while lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar. The album won Anu Malik his second Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. Upon it’s release, songs from the film became a rage throughout the nation. Ttitle track “Main Hoon Na” sung by Sonu Nigam & Shreya Ghoshal, “Tumse Milke Dil Ka Jo Haal Kya Kare” sung by Sonu Nigam and “Chale Jaise Hawaien Sanan Sanan” sung by KK & Vasundhara Das are fondly remembered and played till today.
