This is an actual surviving original Bollywood movie poster of the award winning 1967 classic Hindi film, which featured Sunil Dutt and Nutan in lead roles.

Milan (1967) was directed by Adurthi Subba Rao and also starred Jamuna, Pran, Deven Varma, Shyama and Mukri in supporting roles.

Milan is fondly remembered as one of the earliest films in Indian cinema to weave a story around the subject of reincarnation, making this vintage Bollywood poster, highly collectible!

Printed and circulated a few years after the first release of the film (somewhere in the early 1970s), this Milan movie poster was designed for publicity of the re-release of the film but never ended up being used.

This old Bollywood poster was originally designed in hand painted format in oil on canvas medium by a poster art studio. A stunning hand painted portrait of the lead couple, Sunil Dutt and Nutan, in a passionate embrace is seen prominently in this poster. They are seen standing at the shore under palm trees, while a couple of boats are seen sailing in the background. The picturesque setting gives this vintage Bollywood poster a very soothing and serene appearance.

Typography used in this Milan movie poster is completely in Devanagari Hindi. The title is seen in white, with a red border.

Milan won accolades for its music composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi and the film’s success propelled him to the top. Songs from the film such as “Sawan Ka Mahina Pawan Kare Sor” sung by Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar is fondly remembered and played till today.
