Prince movie poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving Bollywood poster of the old super hit 1969 Hindi film directed by Lekh Tandon that featured the Elvis Presley of Indian cinema, Shammi Kapoor in the lead role opposite Vyjayanthimala.
Produced by F.C. Mehra and released under the Eagle Films’ banner, Prince (1969) also starred Rajendra Nath, Ajit, Helen, Leela Chitnis, Asit Sen, Sudhir, Sapru, Leela Mishra and David Abraham in supporting roles.
Written by Abrar Alvi, Prince (1969) featured the smash hit dance song, “Badan Pe Sitare Lapete Hue” sung by Mohammad Rafi, making this old Bollywood poster, highly collectible.
Printed and circulated during the release run of the film in north Indian theaters (somewhere in the 1970s), this Prince movie poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a Bollywood poster design studio in Delhi.
An over painted portrait of the lead couple Shammi Kapoor and Vyjayanthimala is seen prominently in this original Prince movie poster. The still photograph has been taken from the popular song, “Bachke Jane Na Doongi Dildar” sung by Lata Mangeshkar. The artwork is set against a yellow background, with a blue frame border.
This old Bollywood poster has its title and credits written in Devanagari Hindi as well as in English. The main Devanagari Hindi title is seen at the bottom in white against a red background, whereas the English and Urdu titles on the top are seen in red.
The soundtrack album of Prince (1969) was composed by the hit duo Shankar-Jaikishan. It was a huge success upon it’s release, with songs sung by Mohammad Rafi, particularly “Badan Pe Sitare Lapete Hue” becoming a rage throughout the nation.
