Zameen Aasman poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving old Bollywood poster of the 1984 Hindi drama directed by Bharat Rangachary that starred Sanjay Dutt and Anita Raj in lead roles.
Produced by Uday Narayan Singh and Subhash Gupta, Zameen Aasman (1984) also starred Rakhee Gulzar, Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Mazhar Khan, Satyendra Kapoor, Kalpana Iyer and Manik Irani in supporting roles.
Presented by Kishore R. Shah and released under the banner of Film Group, Zameen Aasman (1984) featured dialogues written by Dr. Rahi Masoom Reza. The film told a dramatic love story based in hill station Ooty.
Printed and circulated during a subsequent release of the film (somewhere in the 1980s), this Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film in north Indian theaters but never ended up being used.
This old Zameen Aasman poster was originally designed using a combination of both hand painted oil on canvas techniques as well as photographic collage by an art studio in Delhi and features quirky artwork.
Sanjay Dutt is seen in a hand drawn portrait on the top, flanked by actress Rekha on the right. A kung fu styled fight scene between Sanjay Dutt and Manik Irani is captured in a black and white still photograph on the top left. The actor is seen again in a romantic pose with Anita Raj at the bottom left, while quirky hand drawn portraits of Shashi Kapoor and Rakhee Gulzar are seen on the bottom right of this classic Zameen Aasman poster.
The background used in this old Sanjay Dutt poster is a mix of orange, yellow and white. Typography in this old Bollywood poster is primarily in Devanagari Hindi, with a translation of the title appearing in English as well. The film’s large Devanagari Hindi title appears in yellow and orange in a vintage signboard font, standing out against a black background.
The soundtrack album of Zameen Aasman (1984) was composed by music maestro R.D. Burman, while lyrics were written by Anjaan. It featured the cult classic song, “Aisa Sama Na Hota, Kuch Bhi Yahan Na Hota, Mere Humrahi Jo Tum Na Hote” sung by melody queen Lata Mangeshkar.
