Vintage Bollywood film posters for sale: Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966).
Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1966 hit Hindi romance directed by Raghunath Jalani that starred Dharmendra and Asha Parekh in lead roles.
Produced by J. Om Prakash and presented by Filmyug, Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966) also starred Balraj Sahni, Sulochana Latkar, Nazima, Rajendra Nath, Raj Mehra, Sunder, Leela Mishra, Dulari, Sabita Chatterjee, Madhu Apte, Sarita Devi and C.S. Dubey in supporting roles.
Shot extensively in Darjeeling, Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966) told the story of a modest hardworking man (Dharmendra) who is appointed tutor to a rich girl (Asha Parekh). The two fall in love and desire to get married. However, their wedding is called off as the girl’s father (Raj Mehra) learns during their engagement that his to be son-in-law is actually the illegitimate child of a judge (Balraj Sahni) – a fact that his single mother (Sulochana Latkar) kept hidden from her son since his birth.
Printed and circulated during the first release of the film in theaters (in the 1960s), this vintage Bollywood film poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Aaye Din Bahar Ke poster was originally designed in hand painted format on canvas by a movie poster art studio in Bombay. The signature of master Bollywood poster artist B. Vishwanath is seen printed on the bottom right hand corner of this vintage poster. The lead couple Dharmendra and Asha Parekh are seen in a romantic pose in a stunning hand painted portrait prominently at the center. Actor Balraj Sahni appears in a smaller hand painted portrait at the bottom of this vintage Bollywood film poster.
The poster is set against a simplistic and pleasing background, with several flowers appearing in semi abstract fashion. The title of the film appears in striking multi-color typography on the top in English – with each word painted in a different shade. A translation of the tile in Devanagari Hindi is seen on the bottom left of this vintage Bollywood film poster.
The soundtrack album of Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966) was composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal, while lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. It was a rare gem that had all seven songs become blockbuster hits, namely, “Mere Dushman Tu Meri Dosti Ko Tarse” and “Khudaya Khair” sung by Mohammed Rafi, “Suno Sajna Papihe Ne,” “Mera Mehboob Hai Bemisal,” “Yeh Kali Jab Talak Phool Banke Khile” and “Aye Kash Kisi Deewane Ko” sung by Lata Mangeshkar and “Khat Likh De Sanwariya Ke Naam Babu” sung by Asha Bhosle.
