Bad movie posters for sale: Roti Kee Keemat (1990).
This is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the old 1990 Hindi film directed by Ramesh Ahuja that starred Mithun Chakraborty and Kimi Katkar in lead roles.
Pran, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Gulshan Grover, Puneet Issar, Bob Christo, Dinesh Hingoo and Viju Khote played supporting roles in this classic action packed drama.
Printed and circulated during a subsequent release run of the film in Kolkata (somewhere in the 1990s), this old Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
With its garish artwork and two tone color scheme, this badly painted movie poster is an example of quirky street art culture at it’s eccentric best, making it highly collectible!
This old Roti Kee Keemat poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a Bollywood poster art studio in Kolkata. A large quirky hand drawn portrait of actor Mithun Chakraborty is seen on the top. Another illustration below features him along with actress Kimi Katkar. Pran is seen hand drawn on the bottom left of this bad movie poster for sale in police uniform.
Typography used in the poster is primarily in English, with the film’s title translated in Devanagari Hindi as well on the top left. A stunning shade of blue is used in this two color hand painted Bollywood poster.
The soundtrack album of Roti Kee Keemat (1990) was composed by noted music director Bappi Lahiri. One of the songs from the film, “Aankhon Se Pee Le” sung by Usha Uthup featured Mithun in drag dressed as a woman.
