Featured here is an actual surviving original cinema poster of the old black and white Kannada comedy drama, Kulla Agent 000 (1972) that was dubbed and released in Hindi as Miss Chalbaaz (Tingoo Agent 000).

Directed by K.S.L. Swamy (Ravi) and written by Raj Joshi, Miss Chalbaaz (Tingoo Agent 000) starred Jyothi Lakshmi and Dwarakish in lead roles. Released under the Cinera banner, the film also starred Udayakumar, R. Sampath, Vajramuni, Shakthi Prasad, Suryakumar, Ranganath, Siddaramaiah, Srikanth, Justin, Jaya and Vijayabhanu in supporting roles.

Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1972), this old Kannada movie poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

This vintage Miss Chalbaaz poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by a poster design studio in Bombay. The printed signature of Bollywood poster painter Manohar Sudam is seen on the bottom left.

A striking hand drawn portrait of actress Jyothi Lakshmi is seen dominating this old Kannada movie poster. She is seen wearing a tight green sleeveless top, with both her fists tightly clenched. Jyothi Lakshmi is depicted in a glamorous look, wearing green eye shadow matching her top and red lipstick. Bollywood poster artist Manohar Sudam takes the liberty to depict the actress with an accentuated perky chest.

Fiery red and orange hues have been used to illustrate the background, which stands out in stark contrast to the actress’ green top. A smaller black and white still photograph of a native tribal charging with a machete is seen at the center. The actress is seen in another black and white photographic still at the bottom delivering a kick to the neck.

The fiery shades and contrast in this vintage Miss Chalbaaz poster give it an eye catchy appearance. Typography used in this old Kannada movie poster is primarily in English, with only the title translated in Devanagari Hindi on the top left. The text uses yellow, black and white shades which stand out against the red background.

The soundtrack album of Miss Chalbaaz (1972) was composed by Rajan Nagendra. It featured the hit song “Aadu Aata Aadu” in the original Kannada version, i.e. Kulla Agent 000 (1972). The same was sung in Hindi by legendary singer Mahendra Kapoor as “Aao Raja Rani.”
