Rajneeti poster for sale.
Featured here is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the 2010 Hindi political drama co-written, produced and directed by Prakash Jha. The film starred an ensemble cast comprising Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal, Nana Patekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Sarah Thompson and Naseeruddin Shah.
Shot extensively in Bhopal, Raajneeti (2010) was inspired from the most revered Hindu epic of the Mahabharata. It told the story of two warring political families. Katrina Kaif’s character was loosely modeled along real life political figure Sonia Gandhi, with critics praising her performance. The film was a blockbuster hit, making this Rajneeti poster, highly collectible!
Printed and circulated during the debut of the film in theaters (somewhere in 2010), this Rajniti poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are seen at the center amidst a sea of people at a political rally. They are flanked by Arjun Rampal, Nana Patekar & Sarah Thompson on the left and Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah on the right respectively.
Typography used in this Raajneeti movie poster is primarily in Devanagari Hindi, with only the subtitle and the release date of the film appearing in English. The subtitle, “Politics … and Beyond” is seen on the top. The release date of the film, “In Cinemas 4th June,” appears at the bottom.
The background score was composed by Wayne Sharpe while the soundtrack album was composed by Wayne Sharpe, Shantanu Moitra, Pritam and Aadesh Shrivastava. Two songs from the film, “Bheegi Si Bhaagi Si” sung by Mohit Chauhan & Antara Mitra and “Mora Piya” sung by Aadesh Shrivastava & Kavita Seth became blockbuster hits at the time of the film’s release.
