Dharti Kahe Pukarke poster for sale.

Featured here is an actual surviving vintage Bollywood poster of the old 1969 Hindi drama directed by Dulal Guha that starred Jeetendra, Nanda and Sanjeev Kumar in key roles.

Produced by Deenanath Shastri under the Vaishali Films banner and presented by Dharmendra, Dharti Kahe Pukarke (1969) also starred Libi Rana (credited as Nivedita), Kanhaiyalal, Durga Khote, Tiwari, Asit Sen, Tarun Bose, Leela Mishra, Manmohan, A.K. Hangal, Radhe Shyam, Madhu Malini, Abhi Bhattacharya and Sujit Kumar in supporting roles.

Dharti Kahe Pukarke (1969) told the story of a rural family comprising three stepbrothers who mortgage their farmland to a moneylender in order to fund a city education for one of them.

Printed and circulated during a subsequent release of the film (somewhere in the 1970s), this old Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film in north Indian theaters but never ended up being used.

This vintage Dharti Kahe Pukarke poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by an art studio in Delhi and features stunning illustrated artwork.

Sanjeev Kumar is seen in a quirky hand drawn illustration at the bottom, with a lathi (stick) slung across his shoulders. Jeetendra is seen in a large hand painted portrait on the top, playing the dafli (tambourine) from the super hit song, “Khushi Ki Woh Raat Aa Gayi.” Actress Nanda is seen on the left of this Bollywood poster, deep in thought. A small illustration of Kanhaiyalal (who plays the eldest of the three stepbrothers) and Durga Khote is seen on the bottom right.

The background used in this Dharti Kahe Pukarke poster features a soothing and scenic farmland illustrated on the top. A bullock cart race is depicted at the bottom above the title. Typography used in this original Nanda poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi. The film’s title appears in red, standing out against a yellow background.

The name of the theater displaying the poster along with the film’s release date is seen scribbled with a marker pen at the bottom of the poster above the title (At Vijaya Theaters from 24th Date).

The super hit soundtrack album of Dharti Kahe Pukarke (1969) was composed by duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal, while lyrics were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. This vintage Bollywood poster capitalizes on the film’s successful music album by mentioning lyrics of popular tracks from the film on the top as: “Je Hum Tum Chori Se, Bandhe Ek Dori Se, Jaiyo Kahan Ae Huzoor” sung by Mukesh & Lata Mangeshkar and “Jaa Re Kaare Badra, Balma Ke Dwaar, Woh Hai Aise Budhoo, Na Samjhe Re Pyar” sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
