Featured here is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the blockbuster 2001 period Hindi film written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker that starred Aamir Khan in the lead role.
Produced by Aamir Khan and presented under the Aamir Khan Productions’ banner, Lagaan (2001) also starred Gracy Singh, Raghubir Yadav, Yashpal Sharma and A. K. Hangal along with British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne in supporting roles.
An Indian epic sports-drama, Lagaan (2001) became the third Indian film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film after Mother India (1957) and Salaam Bombay! (1988), making this Lagaan team poster highly collectible!
Lagaan received critical acclaim and bagged eight National Film Awards, nine Filmfare Awards, nine Screen Awards and ten IIFA Awards. It was included in Empire Magazine’s “100 Best Films of World Cinema,” Time Magazine’s “All-TIME 25 Best Sports Movies” and was also the only Indian film to be listed on Channel 4’s “50 Films to See Before you Die.”
Printed and circulated somewhere during the initial release run of the film in theaters (somewhere in 2001), this Lagaan team poster was printed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.

The highly acclaimed soundtrack of Lagaan (2001) was composed by A.R. Rahman with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Held as one of A.R.
