Beautiful movie posters for sale: Naami Chor (1977).
This is an actual surviving original Bollywood poster of the 1977 action Hindi drama produced and directed by Kamal Mehra that starred Biswajeet and Leena Chandavarkar in lead roles.
Released under the Pride of Asia Films banner, Naami Chor (1977) also starred Shatrughan Sinha, Durga Khote, Keshto Mukherjee, David, Raj Mehra, Kamal Mehra and Dev Kumar in supporting roles.
Printed and circulated during the original first release of the film (somewhere in 1977), this vintage Bollywood poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Naami Chor poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by master Bollywood poster artist V.G. Parchure of Pamart Studio fame, making it highly collectible. The printed signature of movie poster designer V.G. Parchure in the name of his art studio Pamart is seen on the bottom left of this old Bollywood poster.
Lead actor Biswajeet is seen in a stunning full figure hand drawn illustration on the right of this Naami Chor movie poster. He is depicted holding a pistol in his hand, with the portrait seamlessly blending into the red background. Streaks of blue have been used to highlight his face and body, giving this Bollywood poster a stunning appearance.
Master Bollywood poster artist V.G. Parchure captures the likeness and accuracy in actress Leena Chandavarkar’s face in an illustration at the bottom of this beautiful movie poster. She is seen seated on the floor wearing a western outfit.
This vintage Bollywood poster is set against a brilliant red background, with it’s title standing out in stark contrast in yellow. Rough black brush strokes are seen mixed into the red background, with the bottom portion left a minimal white. Typography used in this beautiful movie poster is entirely in English, with only it’s title translated to both Devanagari Hindi as well as Urdu on the top.
The soundtrack album of Naami Chor (1977) was composed by hit music composer duo Kalyanji-Anandji. It featured the popular song, “Kehtey Hain Mujhko Raja” sung by Kishore Kumar and picturised on Biswajeet. The song was inspired by a movie of the same name that was produced and directed by Biswajeet two years earlier, i.e. Kahtey Hain Mujhko Raja (1975).
