Ek Nari Do Roop poster.
Featured here is an actual surviving original vintage Bollywood poster of the 1973 Hindi crime thriller written and directed by Madhusudan that starred Shatrughan Sinha and Rashmi Dhawan in key roles.
Inspired from the novel Shock Treatment written by James Hadley Chase in 1959, Ek Nari Do Roop (1973) also starred Nadira, Madan Puri, Iftekhar, Roopesh Kumar and Mehmood Junior in supporting roles. Asha Sachdev made a special appearance in the film.
Printed and circulated during the debut release of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1973), this vintage Bollywood poster was originally designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
This Ek Nari Do Roop poster was originally designed in hand painted oil on canvas format by Bollywood poster design studio Geigy.
A stunning symmetrical design featuring two women in revealing swimsuits standing on their toes is seen in this hand drawn Bollywood poster. Interestingly, the faces of the two women have been left blanked out with a question mark. An illustrated realistic rendition of actor Shatrughan Sinha is depicted at the center. Actress Rashmi (Actor Anil Dhawan’s wife) is seen in a small circular black and white photographic still above.
The artist’s signature is seen in the name of his movie poster design studio at the bottom right of this original Ek Nari Do Roop poster. The background is a minimal white, except for the center that encases actor Shatrughan Sinha’s portrait and actress Rashmi’s still, which is seen set in a green column.
Typography used in this vintage Bollywood poster is entirely in English, with the title seen in a striking black font encased in red.
The soundtrack album of Ek Nari Do Roop (1973) was composed by Ganesh. Two songs from the film, “Dil Ka Soona Saaz” sung by Mohammed Rafi and “Tum Samjho To Achha Hai, Main Bolun To Kya Bolun” sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle became very popular at the time of it’s release.
