Featured here is an actual surviving original Bollywood movie poster of the 1999 Hindi romantic drama directed by Satish Kaushik that starred Anil Kapoor and Kajol in key roles.
Produced by D. Ramanaidu and released under his prestigious Suresh Productions banner, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999) also starred Gracy Singh, Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor, Satish Kaushik, Rakesh Bedi, Johnny Lever, Dinesh Hingoo, Parmeet Sethi, Mink Brar, Sudha Chandran, Adi Irani, Smita Jaykar, Sadhu Meher and Raju Shrestha in supporting roles.
A remake of Telugu film Pavitra Bandham (1996), Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999) told the story of a young millionaire called Vijay (Anil Kapoor) who is against the idea of marriage. On being pressured by his father Vishwanath (Anupam Kher), Vijay reluctantly agrees to get married on one condition – the marriage will be a contractual agreement for a period of one year. In case Vijay does not fall in love with his wife during this period, the marriage will be annulled and his wife compensated for the same. Vishwanath convinces his personal assistant at his office, a young hardworking girl called Megha (Kajol), to take up the contract.
Printed and circulated during the debut of the film in theaters (somewhere in 1999), this Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain poster was designed for publicity of the film but never ended up being used.
A stunning close up photo of Kajol dressed up as an Indian bride is seen spanning the entire length of this original Bollywood poster.
Typography used in this Kajol poster is entirely in Devanagari Hindi, with the film’s title appearing in handwritten font in white, accentuated with a black border.
The soundtrack album of Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999) was composed by Anu Malik, while lyrics were written by Sameer. It featured the blockbuster hit title track “Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain” sung by Kumar Sanu & Anuradha Paudwal.
